Statue of Imre Nagy: He served as Prime Minister of the republic that was formed after the 1956 rebellion. When the Soviets crushed the rebellion, he was executed and buried in a hidden location in the hills of Buda. After the fall of communism, the location of the grave was revealed, and Nagy was rehabilitated and reburied with an elaborate funeral ceremony. Nagy is a beloved figure by Hungarians, and at the statue, there was a huge pile of flowers and wreaths for him.
