Theophani and Theochariti
Sr. Theophani was my fellow-worker for most of last summer (2006), first in the stable and then in the cheese kitchen. She is Greek -- her village is visible from the stable, in fact -- but her English is excellent. It's a coincidence that now she lives so close to her place of origin; she first lived and was tonsured at the mother-monastery way down south of Athens.
Sr. Theochariti was at that time the most recently tonsured. She made her way to the monastery south of Athens in the process of learning iconography -- a risky business.
