An irregular, three-dimensional aspect has been added. The theme of the work is still the gap, but the various masses are not interconnected. There is, however, no real unity to the work: The eye wanders around it and there is no place the viewer is drawn to. It isn't distinctive. How I Design A Sculpture  -  Since some people liked the old outdoor sculpture drawings I decided to take a crack at making a new one... only this time I would show all the scratch drawings that led up to the final design (though, again, none of my finalized designs are finished drawings in that they could be blueprinted). This sculpture began as a series of small sketches I made during a meeting at work. Those drawings were of something made of three main masses that tapered off. The following shows how the design evolved at home over the course of a week:
