Glass Sculpture: Base Completion
I have finally completed the base of my first sculpture. While building the sculpture I have tried to follow a few basic principles:
1)Economy of material and design
2)Aesthetic elements must also be structural elements
3)The command of space must come from design and not overall size

Unfortunately, the pics of the base itself make it look squarish. In real life it is, essentially, 'y shaped' with organic lines that wrapp inwards. This base will serve as support for (for lack of a better word) a 'triskele' that will branch out into a more abstract superstructure.

I have also included some close ups of the upper base (where the triskele will be mounted) to show how I am fitting the pieces together in a way that is smooth, curvilinear, neat and appealing, and also structurally sound. I am trying to create something that is philosophically, structurally, and aesthetically balanced.

Sorry for the bad description. I'm typing at work and so my descriptions are a little sloppy.
