August 14 Sailboat Race (30+ knot sustained winds) Only a few of the pics I took today. With sustained winds of up to 30+ knots, this was one hell of a race. One boat ran aground after losing a rudder, several collided with each other, and one sailor lost his fingernails early on. A great race run in true Lake Michigan conditions. Because I'm using an up to 18X optical zoom the race area looks smaller than it was. Note the white caps and swells breaking over the rocks near the lighthouse. Copyrights reserved.
