Halfway through the text the Messenger describes part of the fleet being lost. I see Agamemnon eventually returning in a more 'modern' ship like this. In other words, the winnowing of the allied fleet over ten years of wars and storms will be directly depicted by showing the fleet thin out in all the monologues/flashbacks. <--Previous   Next-->

'Agamemnon': The Thousand Ships  -  Obviously airships did not exist in the period. This is my artistic license, though it should be noted that airships share many things in common with the vessels of 1150BC. An important element of the Greek mythical cycle is how the wind (IE gods) can ultimately determine a man's fate, even if he believes he himself ...does. A fleet of airships would carry that theme, albeit with a unique twist. Note that the lion head designs mentioned before are carried over.
